Sergei Stanishev, President of the Party of European Socialists said: “The last few months have seen thousands of refugees arrive in Austria, and we have watched with pride at the way that the city, under the leadership of their social democrat mayor Michael Häupl has welcomed those fleeing persecution.”
“This weekend is a decisive one for Austria. People must decide if they want to remain on open, forward thinking, European power – or turn to the xenophobic party, and retreat into themselves. The SPÖ is the party of inclusion, and human rights. We urge voters in Austria to vote for them.”
