Malta will be fairer for all, thanks to the Maltese Labour Party (Partit Laburista), a full PES member. The Party of European Socialists (PES) welcomes the progressive 2025 budget introduced recently by the progressive government of the country. Malta is investing in its citizens to foster a stronger economy, supporting citizens from all walks of life and ensuring that Malta’s economy is ready for the challenges of tomorrow.
PES Secretary General Giacomo Filibeck said:
“European socialists and democrats commend Malta for its commitment to a progressive budget. From support to ensuring that the younger generation has a good start in life, to help first-time homeowners, to ensuring that the older generation has a good quality of life, to action on climate change, Partit Laburista has the right plan for Malta”.
With the 2025 budget, the Maltese Labour Party is helping citizens, adding a major boost to their disposable income. The state is set to continue providing free childcare and school transport programs, with 35,000 children currently benefiting from the latter, an enhanced tax credit of 250€ for parents whose children attend specialised therapy and an additional 250€ per month in children’s allowance, and 150€ in books for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Partit Laburista announced a 10,000€ tax grant for first-time homeowners, helping young people find a place to call home. The effects of climate change are becoming increasingly felt both in Malta and abroad, and the government has pledged to allocate 20% of the entire budget to environmental measures. The PES praises all the budget measures taken by the Maltese Labour Party.
