Stanishev to meet opposition leader in Turkey

The visit comes in the shadow of a horrifying terrorist attack on 12 January which appears to have been directly targeted at tourists in Istanbul. In this difficult moment for Turkey, and for Turkish politics, Sergei Stanishev was keen to attend the congress in order to show his support for the CHP and the PES’ Turkish comrades.

More detailed information on the PES president visiting Turkey will be available on Monday.
