The Party of European Socialists rejects plans to regulate journalistic activity in Poland, as written in the election programme of the governing party PiS (Law and Order). European socialists believe Kaczynski is trying to use government action to curb the freedom of the press and limit dissent.

PES Migration and Integration Network calls for equal treatment of all children
The Party of European Socialists called for equal treatment of migrant children and native children alike, at a public conference co-hosted with our Maltese member party Partit Laburtista, at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valetta. PES Deputy Secretary General Marije Laffeber, the minister of home affairs of Malta, Dr Michael Farrugia, MEPs Miriam Dalli, Javier Moreno and Julie Ward – from the S&D group – and Ann Marie Pisani from the Agency for the Welfare of Asylum Seekers and Alfred Grixti from the Foundation for Social Welfare Services took part.
PES Migration and Integration calls for bigger efforts to protect and integrate children
The PES network on Migration and Integration called for ambitious integration programmes for migrant children and for a focus on children and their specific need for protection in European migration policies. The meeting will start today in Malta, hosted by Partit Laburista and will end tomorrow with a public conference.
