PES welcomes progress on pay transparency directive
Proposals for the directive on pay transparency proposed by Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dalli, will create a more equal EU. The EU Council’s adoption of a common position brings this aim closer to reality, the Party of European Socialists said today as it welcomed progress on pay transparency.
PES hails key step forward for EU fair wages directive
The Party of European Socialists welcomes the fact that the Council of the EU reached today its general approach on the Directive on Adequate minimum wages in the European Union. This is a vital step on the road to the Directive’s adoption and to secure fair wage thresholds for all citizens, through either strong minimum wages or by strong collective bargaining.
PES employment and social affairs ministers: it is time to step up and improve conditions for platform workers
As the platform economy grows, so must protections for people working in the sector. This was the message as employment and social affairs ministers from the Party of European Socialists met today to exchange on the upcoming European Commission’s Platform Workers Proposal and how it can improve working conditions.
