The party Georgian Dream is no longer a member of the PES, that was the unanimous decision of the PES Presidency today.
As previously announced, the Presidency discussed developments in Georgia, with Presidency members reiterated concerns expressed at previous meetings about the political positions advanced by Georgian Dream and recent public statements made by the party’s leadership.
Therefore, the leadership of the PES determined that the activities and positions of Georgian Dream positioned the party far outside the values of the PES. In view of this determination, the PES leadership proposed to the Presidency that the PES terminate all relations with Georgian Dream, effective immediately. Members of the PES Presidency ratified this decision unanimously.
