Der SPE-Demokratiekongress “Wir stehen zusammen – für unser Europa” findet am 4. Mai von 14:00 bis 16:00 Uhr in den Bolle Festsälen – Alt-Moabit 98, 10559 Berlin statt.

Pressevertreter*innen werden gebeten sich hier anzumelden.
Wir wollen Europas Demokratie und den sozialen Zusammenhalt auf unserem Kontinent verteidigen und weiter stärken. Wir sagen Nein zu Hass und Nationalismus. Wir sagen Ja zu Demokratie, Rechtstaatlichkeit und einem starken Europäischen Parlament als Herzkammer der transnationalen europäischen Demokratie. Extrem rechte Parteien und Kräfte stellen sich derzeit schärfer als je zuvor gegen den europäischen Einigungsgedanken und die Grundpfeiler der Demokratie in Europa. Umso wichtiger sind Klarheit und Entschiedenheit für die Stärkung des demokratischen und sozialen Zusammenhaltes in Europa.
Um hierfür ein starkes Signal zu geben, laden wir als Sozialdemokratische Partei Europas (SPE) zu einem hochrangigen SPE-Demokratiekongress am 4. Mai nach Berlin ein. Unter dem Motto „Wir stehen zusammen – für unser Europa“ wollen wir die demokratischen und sozialen Herausforderungen Europas diskutieren und zusammen mit der SPD deutlich machen, dass wir uns als europäische Sozialdemokraten klar und eindeutig gegen jede Form der Kooperation oder Koalition mit den extrem rechten politischen Kräften in Europa aussprechen.

The PES Democracy Conference “We stand together – for our Europe” will take place in Berlin (Bolle Festsäle – Alt-Moabit 98, 10559 Berlin) on 4 May, from 14:00 to 16:00.
To attend the event as a participant, fill in the registration form. Please note that registration after 29 April (16:00 CET) is no longer possible due to security-check reasons.

We want to defend and further strengthen Europe’s democracy and the social cohesion on our continent. We say yes to democracy, the rule of law and a strong European Parliament as the heart of transnational European democracy. Extreme right-wing parties are opposing the idea of European solidarity and the cornerstones of democracy in Europe more fiercely than ever before. This makes it all the more important to speak up for strong democratic and social cohesion in Europe.
We, the Party of European Socialists (PES) want to send a strong signal for democracy.
This is why we are inviting you to a high-level PES Democracy Conference in Berlin on 4 May. Under the motto “We stand together – for our Europe”, we want to discuss the democratic and social challenges facing Europe and, together with the SPD, make it clear that we as European social democrats are unequivocally opposed to any form of cooperation or coalition with the extreme right-wing political forces in Europe.
