The Party of European Socialists (PES) condemns the intensification of Israeli military operations in the West Bank and the surge in settler attacks against Palestinian towns and villages.
The systematic acceleration of illegal settlement expansion and outposts directly breaches international law and further undermines the stability and rights of local communities. Civilians must not bear the brunt of political and military actions.
PES President Stefan Löfven said:
The PES calls on the international community to strongly condemn the expansion acts and the violence exercised by the settlers and the Israeli military. We call for the immediate release of all Palestinians detained in the West Bank while defending their homes, as well as the release of the protesters against the violence, arrested by Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.
“Violence, arson, and illegal expansion are not a path to security. We demand an immediate end to these attacks, full accountability for perpetrators, and respect for international law and human rights. The aggression by the Israeli settlers supported by Netanyahu’s military is unacceptable and brings suffering and death to the Palestinian population in the West Bank.”
