Mr. Rasmussen added that;“the SDP has already showed its good governance and tremendous work in the activities of the cantonal governments it currently leads and especially in the government of the Federation of B&H”. By contrast, HDZ has insisted that all Croats in government should be exclusively members of HDZ, in contrast with the results of the elections, their proportional representation of the Croat community and the European values of a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society. By doing so, HDZ is preventing BiH from advancing on its EU path. In accordance with the Constitution and the country’s legal framework, a pro-European majority swiftly needs to be established that will address the real problems of BiH citizens and their European aspirations.
The Party of European Socialists (PES) reiterated that it welcomed the efforts of Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDP BiH) in its constructive role towards the formation of a government in the country. Led by Dr Zlatko Lagumdžija, the SDP BiH have sincerely demonstrated their intent to compromise in negotiations with the leaders of the other parties.
The PES also welcomed the political agreement reached by BiH political parties on the issue of the EU Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) funds for a total of EUR 96 million for important projects on the ground.
