Accelerate shift to renewables to provide affordable energy for citizens, PES Network urges
With international conflict threatening EU gas imports, and citizens facing skyrocketing bills, it is time to accelerate the shift to renewable energy generation. This is the only path to dependable and affordable energy for citizens, the PES Environment, Climate Change and Energy Network (ECEN) said today.

PES commends progressive MEPs for safeguarding the European Parliament’s COP26 ambitions
The Party of European Socialists welcomes the European Parliament resolution, passed today, which strongly supports global climate ambitions ahead of COP26. The Resolution calls for all G20 countries to be climate neutral by 2050, for international climate finance for developing countries to be scaled up, and for all countries to revise their contributions every five years. Progressives are focused on securing meaningful global commitments from the international event.
PES Agri ministers: CAP strategic plans must deliver environmental and social progress
Member States must use the Common Agriculture Policy to deliver a more sustainable and fairer future for farming communities, PES ministers agreed today as they met in Luxembourg to coordinate ahead of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council.
