PES President Sergei Stanishev on the result of the Greek elections
Commenting on the result of the Greek elections, PES President Sergei Stanishev said: “The Greek elections of 20 September have given a clear victory to SYRIZA. Everyone must recognize and respect that result. I also want to commend the efforts of our sister party PASOK in rallying the progressives voters in Greece that has started to show results.
The Norwegian Labour Party wins the school elections!
The Norwegian Labour Party (DNA) has won Norwegian School elections with an all-time high result of 31.9 percent of the votes. The Norwegian School Election Project started in 1989. It co-ordinates political debates and mock high school elections in Norway in the weeks prior to the ordinary elections national and local elections in Norway. The results are published a couple of days before the election and draw much attention from media and political analysts.
PES President in Portugal for election campaign launch
The President of the Party of European Socialists (PES) Sergei Stanishev this weekend travelled to Portugal to attend the official launch of the PES Portuguese member party Partido Socialista’s election campaign. He was there to support Antonio Costa in his campaign to become the next Portuguese Prime Minister. The official launch took place at the Young European Socialist’s summer camp.
