PES President Poul Nyrup Rasmussen met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Milan Roćen, during his visit to Brussels to attend the 3rd EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC).

Democratic Party of Moldova welcomed into PES Family
The Party of European Socialists (PES), at its Presidency meeting held in Brussels on October 14th, unanimously voted to accept the membership application of the Democratic Party of Moldova. The progressive Moldovan partner party had applied for the political affiliation earlier this year.

High-level meeting between PES President Poul Nyrup Rasmussen and new CHP Chairman Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu
On September 16th 2010, PES President Poul Nyrup Rasmussen met with the recently elected CHP Turkey Chairman Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Discussions at the bilateral meeting focused on Turkey’s accession to the EU, the referendum on constitutional reform of September 12 2010 and increasing PES-CHP cooperation.

PES activists contributions
PES activists are members of PES member parties that are active on European level. We can proudly state that we are the only European Party that has 20,000 grassroots activists from all Member States and there are even more than 80 local groups connected to the PES activists city group network.
In the forerun to the Congress, the PES has received written contributions by some PES activists. We would like to present their ideas here as “food for thought” for future debates on European Social Democracy. Feel free to add your view by commenting on this blog post.
